Gotto D'Oro Frascati Superiore 2010 (75cl)
Vintage: 2010
Country: Italy
Region: Latium
Appellation: Frascati Superiore
Grape: 50% Malvasia di Candia, 30% Malvasia del Lazio, 10% Trebbiano Toscano, 10% Greco
Alcohol: 12.5%
Closure: Synthetic cork
Producer: This famous appellation from the volcanic hills surrounding Rome finds a consistently good producer in Gotto d'Oro, the first winegrowers association in the region.
Vineyard: The grapes come from vineyards in the nortermost part of the Castelli Romani in Lazio, where the vines enjoy a fresh and sufficiently humid climate. The vineyards are at altitudes of 300-400 metres, with volcanic soil rich in potassium and phosphorus.
Vineyard: The wine underwent a straightforward fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, followed by a fairly early bottling with no oak ageing to preserve the freshness and fruit.
Taste: Fresh, lively nose with notes of grapes and nuts; delicate, well-balanced palate with a good persistent finish.
