Producer: Fattoria Laila is a centuries-old estate, bought in 1990 by one Andrea Crocenzi, whose substantial investment has brought it up to date, and made it one of the most innovative vineyards in the region.

Vineyard: The vines lie in the hills above the east coast of Italy, overlooking the Adriatic sea. An unusually high planting density of 8,000 vines per hectare has been established with a view to greater concentration.

Winery: After a gentle pressing the juice was cool-fermented for fifteen days, then racked off lees and aged in stainless steel tanks for a few months before bottling, with no oak or malolactic.

Taste: A delicate, citrussy nose with hints of wild flowers leads to a lively, elegant palate that combines citrus zest and almond. Crisp, dry, satisfying.
