Prepared one by one, they are rustic biscuits that are the result of a careful combination of spices, nuts, candied fruit, honey and anise. Of a somewhat coarse shape, they surprise with their solid consistency but with a soft heart that melts in the mouth. During the XVI-th century, they were consumed by the horse-changing workers in the Sienese post stations. Hence the origin of their name.
BAKERY PRODUCT: Ingredients: Flour of wheat, sugar, nights (12%), candied orange peel (8%) (orange peel, fructose glucose syrup, sucrose, acidity regulator: citric acid), candied citron (5%) (cedar, fructose glucose syrup, sucrose, acidity regulator: citric acid), honey, glucose syrup, aniseed, coriander, leavening agent: ammonium hydrogen carbonate; natural flavors.
May contain traces of mustard, milk, egg, peanut, soy, sesame and other nuts. The highlighted ingredients (Bold) can cause reactions in allergic or intolerant people.
