Fine-tasting, with a delicate, ruby-red colour, this salame is known as hunters' salame because its handy portable size makes it a perfect tasty snack to take on a hunting trip. Seasoned with black pepper, spices, garlic and dry white wine, it is dried over charcoal and then hung to age. Slice is soft and at fine grain. Compared to Galbanetto, the DOP Cacciatorino is slightly more tender, showing the exact aging of a Cacciatorino.
Slice and eat just as it is, or serve as a snack with some good bread, cheese and tomatoes.
