Fontina from Val d'Aosta (Approx. 300g)
True fontina is produced in the region of Valle d'Aosta. The milk used to make it comes from cows of the pezzata valdostana breed, which has a pleasant grassy, herby scent thanks to the aromatic herbs found in the area's pastures.
The cheese is soft and buttery, and has a unique taste: beautifully sweet, balanced and inviting.
Fantastic for eating sliced or as part of a cheese plate, yet equally superb melted, fontina is also a favourite in fondue, or as a partner for chicken and veal.
